Can it possibly be March already?

This year has taken a few twists and turns.  In mid-January I decided to resign my office job, after months of deliberation and challenge.  It simply wasn't working and had become untenable.  I gave 6 weeks notice, and so as of the last Friday of February I am no longer employed by anyone other than yours truly.  My new boss is a sweetheart except when she's not.

Back to the studio, and I am in debt forever to Jeff for his understanding and support through this difficult yet welcome transition.  I love having my life back.  Thank you Jeff.  The money issue is hard, but isn't it always hard?  When I had a job we struggled.  Now we will struggle.  But somehow we will prevail....no new shoes this year, and we'll expand the vegetable garden. Do more of the work around Artful Habitats ourselves.

My time is my own and to be completely honest that has far more value to me than the earnings I am giving up.

I am teaching a class in my studio one night a week....this is work I love.  I get so much out of it and I am learning and also inspired by my students.  The class is a mix of trying different media, warm-up exercises with paint & paper,
reviewing an artist,  and then working on whatever the student wants to focus on.  If they don't know, I offer prompts.

This is a painting I've been working on for a couple of years now.  Looking forward to figuring out where it wants to go, where it wants to take me.
Stay posted....I'm going to try to become a regular blogger.
