Yoga: Yes

Posted by Diane Debevec on Friday, April 8, 2011
Recently I'm trying to get back to a regular yoga practice, whether on my own or in a class.  I always go deeper in class, but I have this (stubborn) idea that I can do it on my own, and also save money since our income has decreased.  There are three yoga studios in my neighborhood, one of which is owned by my first teacher, Sherry Joy.

Joyful Life Yoga (http://www.joyfullifeyoga.com/index.html) is at the corner of Liberty & Main.  Today I woke up determined to get to the noon class.  I was the only person who showed up, but we had class anyway and my body feels like everything got put back where it belongs.  Ahhhhh. Why is it sometimes so hard to do these things that we know are good for us?  Yoga, more than anything,  has taught me how to tell what is going on my body and beyond: what I'm feeling, what I need.  I don't always listen, but it's there if I want to hear it.

Impulsively, I decided to treat my sister Barb to a yoga class tomorrow when she's visiting from Madison, Ohio. It will be fun to go to a class together...I hope she likes it.  Sherry has a strong, intuitive teaching style and I've never been disappointed in her instruction.  Fingers crossed!
